With iOS 26 beta 6 now available, Apple looks to be changing the schedule of new iOS 26 beta versions to a weekly release. With this upcoming software update expected to launch a month from now, we’re finally seeing the proper vision of what iOS 26 and Liquid Glass are all about.
In the previous beta, Apple continued tweaking the UI to ensure the best experience possible. For example, the Mail app added a Select button to make it easier to select several messages at once. The Camera app now features a new toggle called Classic Mode, which reverses the scroll direction of mode switching, and there are new icons for AirDrop and inside the Fitness app.
In addition to working on improving battery life and general stability, the highlights of iOS 26 beta 5 were new bouncy animations for typing a passcode and swiping between Control Center pages, as well as a new low-battery notification on the Dynamic Island.
iOS 26 is all about Liquid Glass and the future of Apple Intelligence
As we still dig into iOS 26 beta 6, you should know that Apple is readying one of the most ambitious updates ever to the iPhone. The new Liquid Glass design is available across the software, bringing a new look to app icons, Home Screen, Lock Screen, Control Center, and more. The new Apple Intelligence features help build toward a more solid foundation for Apple’s AI platform, including ChatGPT-powered Image Playground creations, better Genmoji, on-screen awareness with OpenAI’s model, and Live Translation.
With a new Visual Intelligence search, it’s easier to discover an item or get more information about an event by taking a screenshot and highlighting the part of the image you want to know more about. iOS 26 beta 6 is available alongside the sixth beta versions of iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. We’ll let you know once we learn more about these updates.
