I recently returned from vacation, and there was no better time to test out the most efficient travel gadgets and gizmos to share them with ZDNET’s dearest readers.

I reviewed the Anker MagGo 5K slim battery pack, the Benks ArmorGo 10K Qi2 battery pack, and a few other knick knacks while in Florida, and I’m finally getting the chance to recap my experience with what I am declaring the best “toss-in-your-bag-and-go” charger I’ve tested this year.

Packing up all your cables, adapters, and cords is probably the most annoying process of rounding up your tech before a trip, and if you’re like me, it’s way too easy to leave something behind accidentally. It’s inevitable.

Baseus just fixed that. The new EnerCore CJ11 GaN 67W charger has banished all my cable nightmares — and for good reason.

This 67W fast charger features a built-in 2.6ft retractable USB-C cable so you’re never without a cord. It also offers two USB-C ports to plug in additional devices, foldable prongs for a compact design, and real time temperature monitor.

Since it’s USB-C, the compatibility range is massive, too. This charger was all I needed for my MacBook Pro, Kindle, AirPods, various MagSafe battery packs and portable chargers, and even my phone. If you have an iPhone with a lightning port, you’ll need an adapter cable, but if you have an Andorid or iPhone 15 or newer, you won’t have to worry about it.

The Baseus EnerCore 67W charger powers up to three devices simultaneously and easily. Baseus says it can charge a MacBook Pro to 43% in 30 minutes. I admittedly wasn’t paying too much attention to the charge times while on PTO, but my tech was always ready to go when I needed it and the charger propelled top-offs in between activities and adventures each day.

I’ve tried other retractable chargers before, like the smaller Baseus Free2Pull cables and Counterpart’s 35W GaN charger, but neither of those offer what the EnerCore 67W does. This charger hits all my favorite travel features (retractable cord, foldable prongs, and compact design) and offers extra ports, to boot.

Also: My new favorite universal adapter for traveling has a hidden superpower

Obviously, this is a universal charger within the US and anywhere with US adapters. But if you’re a frequent international traveler, you may want to consider the Baseus 70W Universal Adapter, which can charge devices in over 200 countries, including the US.

ZDNET’s buying advice

If you need an all-in-one charger for at home or on the go, you can’t beat Baseus’ EnerCore CJ11 GaN lineup. With a 45W, 67W, or a 67W with two retractable USB-C cables option to choose from, I highly recommend them as grab-and-go essentials, especially for its ability to power up different devices simultaneously.
