At IFA Berlin 2025, Samsung and CANVAS HiFi dropped a collaboration that’s hard to ignore: The HiFi Frame. This isn’t just another soundbar bolted under a screen—it’s an attempt to fuse TV design, sound engineering, and art into one seamless object for the living room. And yes, if you’re thinking “Wait, haven’t the Danes done this before?” you’re right. Bang & Olufsen has been playing in this sandbox for years with their own TV/soundbar systems. The difference here is scale—and excitement.
With Samsung, the world’s largest TV manufacturer, and CANVAS HiFi, a young but already award-winning Danish audio brand, the partnership feels less like a niche luxury experiment and more like a mainstream push to redefine what a premium AV system should look and sound like. Why so much buzz this time? That’s the part worth digging into.
Picture And Sound, United.
Samsung’s flagship televisions have long set the benchmark for picture performance — detail, contrast, and clarity that leave competitors chasing shadows. Pair that with CANVAS HiFi’s proven sonic chops — a soundbar system we’ve heard firsthand and can confidently say delivers impact, nuance, and atmosphere far beyond its size — and you’ve got a system where image and sound finally meet as equals.
The HiFi Frame isn’t just about making noise, it’s about making the room feel. Flip it on and silence turns cinematic, dialogue becomes human, and music breathes into the space. This is immersion that doesn’t rely on brute force, but on balance and finesse.

And then there’s the design. Danish minimalism at its finest, wrapped around Samsung’s tech muscle. Quite frankly, it looks better than anything we’ve seen from any TV manufacturer. LG doesn’t have this. Sony doesn’t have this. The HiFi Frame takes what’s typically hidden in the background and makes it part of the experience — an object that transforms the room even before you press play.
“The HiFi Frame is a combination of the industry’s best sound and best picture in a single design that complements our most exclusive TV series. It is aimed at consumers who demand both experience and aesthetics at the absolute highest level,” says Knut Eirik Rornes, PM and PR Samsung.

CANVAS HiFi Technology: World-Class Sound, Now Built Into the Frame
Inside The HiFi Frame sits CANVAS’ own soundbar tech, and it’s not just a token add-on. Two 6.5-inch woofers backed by a pair of 5×8-inch passive radiators from SB Acoustics handle the low end with the kind of authority you’d expect from a proper sub, minus the extra box eating up floor space. The 24-liter cabinet gives the bass enough air to move, while dialogue stays locked in and easy to follow.
The structure itself is reinforced with CANVAS’ BridgeBrace, which keeps cabinet resonance in check — because nobody needs a TV frame humming along with the soundtrack. Power comes from four independent amplifiers, one for each driver, with a Burr-Brown DAC and DSP managing the signal. The result isn’t marketing fluff — it’s clean, controlled playback. Danish design doing what it does best: making something that looks simple while quietly out-engineering the competition.
Tip: The HiFi Frame uses the same Canvas HiFi speaker system available separately as an under-mount TV option or standalone unit with flush-width replaceable grilles.

BACCH 3D: Authentic Three-Dimensional Sound Without Compromise
The HiFi Frame reacts to your room, not the other way around. Room Correction measures your space and makes adjustments so bass remains controlled, dialogue stays intelligible, and instruments retain their natural tone — whether the frame is mounted on a wall or standing on a cabinet.
For spatial imaging, BACCH 3D takes a different approach than conventional surround. Developed by Professor Edgar Choueiri, director of Princeton’s Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory and founder of the 3D Audio and Applied Acoustics (3D3A) Lab, BACCH 3D cancels crosstalk between channels so each ear receives exactly the sound it’s intended to.
I, along with Chris Boylan and Brian Mitchell, have had the chance to test BACCH 3D at various stages of its development. Nearly eight years ago, I spent two days with Professor Choueiri at Princeton when the technology was still in its infancy, and even then I recognized it as one the most groundbreaking advancements in audio playback I’d heard in three decades. There’s no audio voodoo here — just state-of-the-art, precise engineering delivering a wide, tall, and deep three-dimensional soundstage that feels genuinely authentic.
The Samsung TVs Inside The HiFi Frame: Artful Design Meets Integrated Performance
As the world’s top-selling TV brand, Samsung provides the screens for The HiFi Frame. The whole system fits seamlessly together and will initially be sold together with 2025 Samsung The Frame or The Frame Pro 4K TVs. However, we’re told it will also work with other Samsung “Art” TVs such as Neo QLED 4K and 8K models, and should work with previous generation The Frame TVs.
Available in sizes from 55″ to 85″, each TV is integrated into The HiFi Frame so the outer frame houses both the Samsung display and the CANVAS soundbar. The result is a single, cohesive unit — straightforward to install, visually minimal, and designed to blend seamlessly into any living space.
Tip: Although The HiFi Frame is specifically designed to work with Samsung “Art” TVs, the regular Canvas HiFi (soundbar system) works with any brand’s TV sized from 55 to 85-inches.
The HiFi Frame: Acoustic Design Meets Versatile, Artful Integration
What you see should support what you hear. The HiFi Frame is finished in Kvadrat textiles selected not only for aesthetics but for acoustic transparency. Each fabric has been tested to ensure sound passes through without distortion or coloration, preserving every detail of the performance.
For a different look, handcrafted wooden lamella fronts are available in light oak, walnut, or mahogany. All are FSC-certified, providing natural warmth and craftsmanship that integrates with the home while aging gracefully over time.
Wall-mounted or floor-standing, The HiFi Frame is designed to belong. A single, unified frame houses both the Samsung TV and the CANVAS soundbar, with concealed cabling and precise alignment across sizes 55″ to 85″. On the wall, it presents as a calm, clean rectangle; on the floor, it becomes a statement with presence. Kvadrat textiles and FSC-certified wood finishes complete the outline, making picture and sound feel integrated with your space rather than simply placed within it.

Connectivity That Keeps You in Control
The HiFi Frame keeps you connected no matter your source. Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Roon, and HDMI eARC make it easy to play music, film, or anything that moves you — from your TV, phone, or network. Vinyl lovers aren’t left out either: the analog input with a Burr-Brown DAC delivers full-fidelity sound for turntables with built-in phono stages.
Setup is straightforward. One tap on an iPhone or a guided process on Android gets everything running. Once connected, control is simple. HDMI eARC lets The HiFi Frame respond directly to your TV remote, maintaining perfect lip-sync and volume control as if it were part of the screen itself — seamless, accurate, and effortless.
In most traditional setups, you need to give your speakers some breathing room—typically 30–60 cm (1–2 feet) from the back wall—to get clean, balanced bass. But CANVAS flips the script. It’s designed to sit flush against the wall or even directly on the floor. While that placement boosts bass output, it can also make things sound bloated or boomy.
To fix that, CANVAS includes Room Correction via its iOS and Android apps. Using an iPhone’s built-in mic, the app measures your room’s acoustics and adjusts the frequency response to keep things tight and linear. Want even better accuracy? The optional Zen smart reference microphone works with both Android and iPhone and delivers pro-level measurements for even more precise correction.
In other words, CANVAS gets the full-range sound of a freestanding speaker system—even when it’s parked against your living room wall.

A Special Partnership with Carsten Beck
The HiFi Frame also showcases a creative collaboration with Danish artist Carsten Beck, recognized for his geometric and tactile art. In pairing the CANVAS HiFi front cover with Samsung’s premium TVs featuring Art Mode, a dialogue unfolds between analog and digital. Beck’s physical works on the HiFi Frame are reflected in their digital counterparts on the screen, merging art, sound, and technology into a single, curated expression.
The Bottom Line
The HiFi Frame is more than a soundbar or a TV — it’s a collaboration between two leaders in their fields: Samsung, the world’s top TV manufacturer, and CANVAS HiFi, a Danish brand already acclaimed for its soundbar technology. Inside a single, unified frame, best-in-class picture and award-winning sound converge with understated Danish design that feels at home in almost any interior. BACCH 3D and Room Correction deliver spatially accurate, immersive audio, while Kvadrat textiles and FSC-certified wood finishes combine form and function with a quiet elegance rarely seen in high-end AV.
Available in sizes from 55″ to 85″, The HiFi Frame ranges from €5,000 to €10,000 depending on TV model, size, and materials, and its ultra-flexible design can accommodate other Samsung high-end TVs. There’s no U.S. pricing yet — the official launch happens at IFA Berlin 2025 — but this is clearly a premium proposition for those who want picture, sound, and design in perfect harmony.
