Apple’s Mac Mini M4 has dropped to its lowest price on Amazon – how to get $100 off

Mac Mini M4 Pro on desk

Jason Hiner/ZDNET

If you’ve been waiting to upgrade from your old Apple desktop, now is a good time to do it because the M4 Mac Mini is currently on sale at Amazon. The retailer has every single configuration at a discount. To make things easy, I’ve made a table for each build highlighting their specifications and new price point:

M4 Mac Mini build

Current Price

16GB of RAM / 256GB SSD

$499

16GB of RAM / 512GB SSD

$689

24GB of RAM / 512GB SSD

$904

There is also an M4 Pro Mac Mini available for $1,304, down $95 from its original price. This model has 24GB of memory and 512GB of storage space. It isn’t available in any other configuration. Be aware that these prices do not include AppleCare+. Choosing the three-year warranty plan adds an extra $99 to the configuration.

$500 is the lowest amount the M4 Mac Mini has ever been outside of major sales events or holidays. It’s great to see such a huge discount since this is a solid computer and one that comes highly recommended. ZDNET’s editor-in-chief Jason Hiner reviewed the M4 Mac Mini when it first launched in late 2024. He said that the small desktop introduced a “long-awaited redesign [to] one of Apple’s quirkiest and most utilitarian products.” It’s more compact than the previous generation, weighing 1.5 pounds and measuring 5 by 5 inches.

Hiner describes Apple’s M4 chipset as providing “next-level performance,” enabling the computer to tackle challenging workflows like music production, video editing, and other types of content creation. These applications are boosted by the fact that the base M4 Mac Mini comes with 16GB of RAM, compared to older Mac Minis, which sported 8GB of memory.

That’s fine for casual usage, but it buckles under demanding tasks. And with Apple Intelligence being thrown into the mix, Apple had to give its hardware a much-needed upgrade in order to continue delivering the top-tier performance its series is known for.

Review: M4 Mac Mini

I recommend the Mac Mini M4 to people who want the latest Apple tech without the high cost. The M4 iMac and MacBook Pro deliver a similar experience, but those devices cost over $1,000.

How I rated this deal

The M4 Mac Mini is highly recommended to people and creative professionals who want some of the best hardware Apple offers but don’t have a lot of desk space or the cash necessary to buy an expensive model. This compact desktop performs well thanks to its design. Plus, it delivers the next generation of Apple’s AI tech.

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I grant this promotion an Editor’s deal rating of 2/5. $100 off is not a steep discount. Apple rarely dishes out price drops for its hardware unless it’s reaching the end of its support cycle. Still, it’s a much-appreciated discount, so be sure to pick it up before the sale ends.

It’s unknown exactly how long this deal will last as an expiration date wasn’t given, but don’t expect it to last for very long. Act fast and take advantage of the discounts while they last.
