Swift and silky: hair drying without the high price tag

If you’re looking to upgrade your haircare routine with one of the best hair dryers, then, like most people realistically, you’re going to want the all-singing, all-dancing Dyson Supersonic Nural. But it’s no secret Dyson’s hair drying whizz is far too expensive to justify for many, which is where the Laifen Swift comes in.

We rate the Laifen Swift as being the best Dyson Supersonic alternative, not just because of how it looks and the fact it has magnetic attachments, but because it does a mighty-fine job of drying hair quickly and with excellent results.

You get three temperature and two speed settings, which we found to be more than enough for the average user in our Laifen Swift review. We would’ve liked to have seen a separate cool shot button, but at least you can cycle through the temperature settings to get to cold to lock your style in.

If you’ve recently signed up for Amazon Prime or decide to do so today for the final day of this year’s Prime Day sale , don’t forget that this also gives you access to Amazon Prime Video during your trial period – you can find out more about the perks of being a subscriber in our guide to what is Amazon Prime in Australia.

We’ve put together a list of 7 Prime Video movies and TV shows all with over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes that you should start with if you’ve just gained access to the streamer, just to help you get started with some quality entertainment. Note, however, the standard Prime subscription will have ads during Prime Video streaming, but an additional AU$2.99 a month will remove those.

Bring the Megaboom: lowest-price alert

I’m a sucker for good Bluetooth speaker and the Ultimate Ears range, particularly the Megaboom, has always been among my favourites.

I’ve not seen a discount this low on the Megaboom 4 before – those are usually reserved for smaller, less powerful Boom 4 – so this AU$151.95 saving at Amazon is something to shout about.

For those who want to know more, my colleague (who maintains our best Bluetooth speakers guide) has a more detailed write up on the deal that’s been available since before Prime Day actually started. But now, its AU$30 cheaper!

Now, don’t get confused with you see on Amazon, as the savings are shown as less – Amazon has a penchant for using its previous deal price as its current list price, so trust me when I say this is a bigger discount than the 13% off shown on the product listing page.

Good morning, shoppers! And what a day this is going to be. I promise you a flurry of activity on this page as I’m going to be scrambling to share all the best highlights of Prime Day 2025 – well, the tech (and tech-adjacent) highlights specifically – so you can pocket those last-minute savings.

Over the last six days, we’ve had over 8,000 people tune into our live coverage of Prime Day 2025. Well, I’m not sure ‘tuned in’ is the right phrase here, but my team and I are really grateful to all the readers who joined us through sale so far.

Hopefully our coverage in the past six days has been helpful and you’ve been able to bag a few discounts on items that have been on your shopping list for a while.

If you’re just joining us now, don’t worry, we’re still rolling on with our coverage here at TechRadar and will continue to do so until the very end. Amazon has decided to make Prime Day 2025 a week-long event after all, ending tonight – Monday, July 14 – so we’ve still got some time yet. Thanks, Jeff.
