Amazon just sent out invitations for its next Devices and Services event, during which the company releases new products, such as Echo speakers and displays, Kindle e-readers, and Fire TVs. This year, the invitation-only event will take place on September 30 in New York City.
The invitation hints at the launch of a new Echo speaker, Fire TV, color Kindle, and another device that looks like a smart speaker — or maybe a robot vacuum? However, these are just assumptions I made based on the invitation; whatever Amazon launches at the end of the month may or may not include any of these devices.

The Kindle on the invitation shows what looks like a hand-drawn recreation of the Kindle logo, hinting that Amazon may launch a full-color Kindle Scribe. Amazon already launched the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition in October 2024, followed by a 16GB Kindle Colorsoft and a Kids version.
The speaker pictured on the invitation looks like an Echo Studio seen from above, which was initially released in 2019 and received OTA firmware updates to give it spatial audio and a new white finish in 2022.
While Amazon launched new Echo Show 15 and 21 smart displays last year, the company hasn’t released a new Echo Dot, its most popular smart speaker, since 2022. As far as more recent smart speakers go, Amazon launched the Echo Spot in July 2024, following the Echo Pop’s May 2023 launch.
Because the larger Echo Shows were launched more recently, the display pictured on the invitation is more likely to be a Fire TV than another smart display. Amazon released a new Fire TV Stick HD last October to replace the Fire TV Stick and Stick Lite, followed by the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in April.

Amazon held its last Devices and Services event in 2023, when it announced new Ring, Blink, Echo, and Fire TV products and the addition of generative AI to Alexa. However, the company skipped the 2024 event after failing to deliver the new Alexa experience and opted to quietly launch new products at the end of last year.
SVP Panos Panay hosted an Alexa event in February 2025 to reinvigorate the launch of Alexa+, a generative AI-powered virtual assistant. Alexa+ has since launched on an early access program, where only a limited number of users have access to it.
